Who we are

Trained in the mysterious art of communication, I'm an elite master of media environment, skilled with creativity and deadly with the pixel.

Hello There! My name is John Conrad Victorino and welcome to my Digital Portfolio, my personal site and visual playground to showcase some of the work that i have created in digital media and more. If you want to know more, grab a warm drink, light the fire, and cuddle under a soft blanket while I condense my life story into a few paragraphs.

Conrad is

Born and raised in the Philippines, I went to school just like many. Throughout education I always excelled in the artistic topics, from building a robot out of cardboard boxes and empty toilet rolls to competing in regional drawing contests. This led to me heading down the creative route in school, college and university, choosing subjects such as advertising, public relations and media environments as my main focus.

Having been captivated by how advertisements presented stories and ideas in interestingly creative ways when I was a kid, I decided that I wanted to work in advertising at quite a young age (with superhero and secret ninja being backup careers). With that dream in mind, I went to study Mass Communications at the Far Eastern University to acquire the set of skills and knowledge it requires to fulfil this dream. At FEU I received a multi-faceted training from top notch professors who are practitioners in their field of expertise, from advertising strategies, promotional techniques, language arts to radio, TV, film and theatre production.

But this wasn’t enough! I wanted more. Since I couldn’t find a radioactive spider or a ring that will grant me super hero powers, like Bruce Wayne who trained to become “super”, I trained to become a self-taught graphic artist and web designer. Most of the things I have learned are self-taught through online tutorials off the internet and constant self-study. This site is the latest incarnation showcasing my portfolio. I got my start as Ii was bored one day and started playing around with Photoshop. Five years and many hours later, I have discovered that I have a passion and talent for creating works that are both highly functional and aesthetically sound.

"Im completely out of my mind!"

...and that's what I like to think of myself. I love to take the lead and to imagine things from scratch, thinking outside the box is just not enough; there are times when you need to crush everything in order to see something totally new. I like to get mad with myself, throw things out of the table and yell "this sucks!" until I get what's needed. I don't just stay with the first design and move on; it's not why I went on business in the first place. Yell. Decide. Get Mad. Get Crazy.  Invent and re-invent.

After College:

My studies of advertising, language arts and media at the University have come to an end. Cue the panic! And the sweating! Plus, my parents are already expecting explanations on my employment progress: "Dear son, what are you going to do now that you've finished your studies, and when will you be finally independent from our money?" Even more sweating.

I studied to find the right job, not something just to earn money and survive.

In the hope of earning some money in my chosen field, advertising and digital media, I decided to build this digital portfolio to help me find my dream job.

Said dream is to be a Creative Director, but, as everyone's got to start somewhere, I'm now looking for openings in creatives  or any interesting entry level position.

Top 10 reasons why you should hire me

1. Passion is something I live and breathe each day. I would bring that enthusiasm to the job daily, among other skills.

2. Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented, I am committed to great work that both you and I can be proud of. I strive for excellence.

3. Despite this attempt to be over the top, I am generally a pretty “normal” person. I’ll bring tact and professionalism to any position.

4. Outgoing & personable, I work well as part of a team, but also can work on my own. I can relate to people of all kinds. Plus, I’ve got wit.

5. I have a strong work ethic and integrity and I am capable of learning and catching on to new systems and ideas.

6. I won’t just get my job done, but I’ll take initiative where needed and will work hard to be helpful beyond just my job description.

7. I am talented at marketing and graphic design. I can apply those skills as well.

8. Since I’m tooting my own horn already, I might as well throw in that I’m smart. Tech-savvy. A quick learner. And extremely dedicated.

9. I have the skill set necessary to perform the job you need done quickly and efficiently with a good attitude to go with it.

10. And although there may be others that are just as qualified if not more qualified, they do not bring the flavor that I bring to the mix. I think my cheerful demeanour, personality, and my strong work ethics combined make me a wonderful part of a team, as well as a valuable asset to the company.
