Hello There! My name is John Conrad Victorino and welcome to my Digital Portfolio, my personal site and visual playground to showcase some of the work that i have created in digital media and more. If you want to know more, grab a warm drink, light the fire, and cuddle under a soft blanket while I condense my life story into a few paragraphs.
Born and raised in the Philippines, I
went to school just like many. Throughout education I always
excelled in the artistic topics, from building a robot out of
cardboard boxes and empty toilet rolls to competing in regional
drawing contests. This led to me heading down the creative route in
school, college and university, choosing subjects such as
advertising, public relations and media environments as my main
focus.
Having been captivated by how
advertisements presented stories and ideas in interestingly creative
ways when I was a kid, I decided that I wanted to work in
advertising at quite a young age (with superhero and secret ninja
being backup careers). With that dream in mind, I went to study Mass
Communications at the Far Eastern University to acquire the set of
skills and knowledge it requires to fulfil this dream. At FEU I
received a multi-faceted training from top notch professors who are
practitioners in their field of expertise, from advertising
strategies, promotional techniques, language arts to radio, TV, film
and theatre production.
But this wasn’t enough! I wanted more.
Since I couldn’t find a radioactive spider or a ring that will grant
me super hero powers, like Bruce Wayne who trained to become
“super”, I trained to become a self-taught graphic artist and web
designer. Most of the things I have learned are self-taught through
online tutorials off the internet and constant self-study. This site
is the latest incarnation showcasing my portfolio. I got my start as
Ii was bored one day and started playing around with Photoshop. Five
years and many hours later, I have discovered that I have a passion
and talent for creating works that are both highly functional and
aesthetically sound.
...and that's what I like to think of myself. I love to take the lead and to imagine things from scratch, thinking outside the box is just not enough; there are times when you need to crush everything in order to see something totally new. I like to get mad with myself, throw things out of the table and yell "this sucks!" until I get what's needed. I don't just stay with the first design and move on; it's not why I went on business in the first place. Yell. Decide. Get Mad. Get Crazy. Invent and re-invent.
Now that you know a little bit more about me... maybe you'd like to:
Or you can ask me something.
